Ontario divorce joint by a
family lawyer. No court appearance
As of May 1, 2007, All Application (divorce) simple
or Joint MUST be prepared under the supervision of a Lawyer
and not by agents. All family law actions here comply with
this rule and as set by the Law Society of
Upper Canada
. All other Application (divorce) simple or joint that do
not comply with this rule may be rejected by the court. All Agents and Web Sites engaged in an unauthorized practice may be Prosecuted.

In a claim for
ontario divorce you need to confirm THAT:
- The
Lawyer DOES NOT provide any legal advice to you, implied
or otherwise, in any way, form or manner.
- The
Lawyer does advise you to obtain legal advice with
respect to any corollary issues such as custody,
support, the Equalization of net family properties and
the applicable time limits with respect to making such
claims.
- You
may request to receive legal advice from the Lawyer at
which time it will be provided at a cost to you.
- You
have received or attempted to receive marriage
counselling to save your marriage.
- You
have received guidance from a marriage guidance facility
in-order to save your marriage.
- All
attempts to reconcile have failed and that there is no
possibility of reconciliation.
- You
OR your spouse have lived in Ontario for at least one
year prior to commencing this divorce action.
- You
claim a divorce only and there are no other claims
whatsoever.
- There
are no children of marriage OR there are children of
marriage and child support is paid according to the
child support guideline.
- You and your spouse shall jointly co-operate in this ontario
divorce action.
Reason for an ontario divorce Joint
You can start your ontario divorce joint for ONE reason only:
a) SEPARATION- you and your spouse have lived separate and apart for One year.

There are court fees
which may be waived if you are in receipt of social
assistance, disability or are in the low income brackets.
Please notify if you like an assessment. Otherwise you must
pay court fees and in two stages of $167 to file and six
weeks or longer $280 to finalize your divorce application.
